Acabei de encontrar esse vídeo ultra raro no Youtube. É um show da formação original do Beat Crusaders (Hidaka, Thai, Araki e Umu), feito há quase 11 anos (perto do lançamento do mini-álbum WXY, com o Captain Hedgehog, em março de 2001). É tão estranho "ver" Hidaka sem moicano, usando roupas super largas e sem a mania de largar a guitarra para apontar pra cima no meio da música! Além disso, nessa época eles não jogavam as máscaras para o público e a censura do vídeo é bem tosca... épico!

I just found this ultra rare video on Youtube. It's a live concert of the original formation of Beat Crusaders (Hidaka, Thai, Araki and Umu), perfomed almost 11 years ago (around the release of WXY mini-album, with Captain Hedgehog, on march 2001). It's so strange to "see" Hidaka without his mohawk, wearing super baggy clothes and without the habit of quit playing the guitar to point upwards in the middle of the song! Besides, this time they didn't throw the masks to the public and the digital censorship was pretty rough... epic!

Essa é quentíssima! Estava no Youtube procurando vídeos do Beat Crusaders upados recentemente e encontrei quatro vídeos extremamente raros e épicos! Esse é o Funside, banda que o ex-guitarrista Taro Kato integrava antes de fazer parte do Beat Crusaders. Não lembra em nada o Taro maluco e assustador que conhecemos! (☼Д☼)

I was on Youtube looking for some recently uploaded videos of Beat Crusaders and suddenly I found these 4 extremely rare and epic videos! This is Funside, the band that the former guitarist Taro Kato used to play before joining Beat Crusaders. He doesn't remind anything to the crazy and creepy Taro that we know so well! (☼Д☼)

O ex-tecladista, guitarrista e vocalista da formação original do Beat Crusaders, Hiroyuki Thai, morreu de ataque cardíaco aos 34 anos na madrugada do dia 26 de novembro. A nota de falecimento foi divulgada no dia 30 de novembro no blog oficial do ex-colega de banda, Toru Hidaka.



Beat Crusaders' former keyboardist, guitarist and vocalist, Hiroyuki Thai, died of a heart attack at age 34 in the morning of november 26. The death notice was published on november 30 in the official blog of the former bandmate, Toru Hidaka.

Antes do nascimento do Beat Crusaders, Thai e Hidaka formaram a banda Pesela-Quesela-In. É Thai quem aparece no encarte do único álbum da banda, Remasterpieces. Após a separação da formação original do Beat Crusaders (Thai, Umu e Araki), em agosto de 2003, Thai se tornou o vocalista da banda Anita Chili Peppers, posição que ocupou até sua morte. Havia, inclusive, um show da banda programado para dezembro, em Tokyo, que acabou sendo cancelado.



Before the birth of the Beat Crusaders, Thai and Hidaka started the band Pesela-Quesela-In. It's Thai who appears in the booklet of the band's only album, Remasterpieces. After the separation of the original members of Beat Crusaders (Thai, Umu and Araki), in august 2003, Thai became the lead singer of Anita Chili Peppers, a position he held until his death. There was even a band's show scheduled for december in Tokyo, which has been canceled.

Uma perda irreparável para a música indie japonesa. Thai será lembrado para sempre por todos os seus fãs. Obrigada pelas ótimas músicas e por toda a diversão!

Na madrugada do dia 11 para o dia 12, rolou aqui no Japão uma transmissão ao vivo (via stream) do lançamento do split single do Hidaka com a banda Fed Music, o Our Favorite Songs. Das 23h00 às 1h30, os caras falaram sobre a parceria, sobre música, fizeram piadas, "concurso de desenho" e, no final, é claro, fizeram uma mini live. Quem perdeu, não se desespere! Com exclusividade, o Beta Crusaders Blog traz para os fãs de Hidaka as cinco músicas tocadas pelo grupo naquela noite: Double Fantasy, Lonely Boy (cover de Andrew Gold), 1998 (cover de Gallow), Yasashisa ni Tsutsuma Retanara (cover de Arai Yumi) e outra que não descobri de quem é (hahaha)!

A qualidade da gravação não está muito boa por motivos óbvios... é impossível fazer uma transmissão em tempo real com qualidade full HD, né? Conto com a compreensão de todos! v（＾Ｏ＾☆♪
